Northern Velebit is an ideal destination for all those who prefer active holidays and relaxation in intact natural surroundings where you can experience the charm of pristine wilderness. You will be able to choose from over 30 mountain trails that run through different landscapes offering you countless possibilities for exploring the region. For easier orientation, all mountain trails are waymarked with signposts installed at intersections stating the average hike duration in hours. Almost all of the trails lead to mountain peaks that afford magnificent views of the sea, the Adriatic islands and the region of Lika. The existing mountain trails and paths are also suitable for other activities such as trekking and hiking.

In and around the Park there is a network of partly dirt (macadam) and partly paved roads that are excellent for cycling and cycling tours of Velebit.
The dynamic change of landscape, the diversity of animal and plant life, and the vagaries of weather will inspire you to take photos to capture the magical moments on Velebit.
To support your experience of the wild nature, we have installed information boards along some of the mountain trails.

PROGRAMME
Programme incudes several presentation types, according to arrengement:
- PowerPoint presentation with expert interpretation of the natural and cultural values of the Park
- PowerPoint presentation about the natural and cultural values of the Park with a promotional film titled „Wilderness, diversity, beauty, freedom“
- According to specific needs, we also offer a range of topic-specific presentations (geology, flora and fauna, meteorology, cultural heritage...)

For elementary school children we have developed an educational programme called the Mountain Workshop, from meteorology, biology and geology. It is performed in the area of Zavižan and Velebit Botanical Garden.

Visitor Centre Velebit House
PROGRAMME:
For group visits (15 or more persons) in Velebit House, guidance of educators is mandatory. Groups are announced at least a week in advance. The program consists of a guided tour through the Centre, and for primary and secondary school students, by agreement / need, filling out worksheets on the topic of wildlife, meteorology, cultural heritage, geology or speleology. It is possible to arrange special guidance programs, with an emphasis on the topics above, which should be arranged in advance when announcing the group.
Guidance is also possible for individual visitors, and is announced at least a week in advance.
Duration: 60 - 90 minutes
