Shepherds’ huts Alan

The shepherds' huts on Alan are located at the bottom of the peak Alančić at the very edge of the forest, right by the transversal Velebit road connecting Lika with the sea. Alan has a total of 6 huts, three of which are intended for accommodation, one hut serves as an info center, one hut is used as a log cabin, while one hut has a toilet and a handy shower. The huts intended for accommodation were named after species important to the Park: House of Longhorn Beetle of the Species Morimus funereus, House of Velebit Leech, House of Western Capercaillie. They can accommodate 24 people who sleep on beds or mattresses with bed sheets. There are 2 beds in the hut of Velebit Leech and Longhorn Beetle, while 5 mattresses are located in the gallery / attic which is accessed by wooden ladders. There are 4 beds and 6 mattresses in the gallery / attic in the House of Western Capercaillie. In each accomodation hut there is a table with benches, a convenient kitchen with cutlery for food preparation and eating, and as well as a wood-burning cooking stove. The huts are equipped with simple personal hygiene accessories (wasbowls), wood logs and an axe for chopping wood. The shepherds' huts on Alan are not connected to the water supply and the electricity grid, electricity is obtained through solar panels and rainwater is collected in the cistern. The water is used only for washing and maintenance, while the drinking water must be brought by the visitors themselves.

Shepherds’ huts Lubenovac

Shepherds’ huts in the mountain valley Lubenovac are located along the very edge of this spacious karst valley, at the bottom of the Strict Nature Reserve Hajdučki and Rožanski Kukovi. Huts are not connected to the water supply and electric network, rainwater is collected in the cistern, and there is no electricity. In Lubenovac, there are 4 huts available for use: two are intended for accommodation purposes, one hut has an open fireplace with a kit for food preparation and one contains an outhouse and a portable shower. Huts intended for accommodation purposes are supplied with mattresses and bedclothes for up to 4 persons. In the hut, there is a table with several benches, which can be easily converted into a sleeping berth for two. On the top floor/attic, there is an additional sleeping area for two, accessed by a wooden ladder. The hut is also equipped with a small kitchen, cutlery for eating and preparing food and a small wood-burning stove. In each hut, there are gas and kerosene lamps, wood logs and an axe for chopping wood. The water is used only for washing and maintenance, while the drinking water must be brought by the visitors themselves.

Zavižan mountain hut

 The Zavižan Mountain hut is a two-storey building built on the foundations of the former Krajač's house. The hut offers minor drinks service, as well as possibility to prepare your own food. On the ground floor there is a kitchen, a group dormitory (14 beds) and a dining room with 40 seats. The first floor comprises rooms with two, four, and eight beds. Rooms and dormitories are furnished with bunk beds and bedding, no sleeping bags are required. The house has electricity and telephone. The building has a water cistern with limited capacity, and the water should be used only sparingly. The accommodation should be booked in advance. during the season. A terrace in front of the hut has about 50 seats.

Alan mountain hut

 The Alan mountain hut is a wooden cabin featuring 5 rooms with a total of 40 beds on the first floor. There is a fully equipped kitchen on the ground floor where you can prepare and eat your own food and drinks. In the summer season, the water from the cistern next to the kitchen is conducted into the kitchen. It should be used only sparingly. The mountain hut has no electric lighting. The water for the basic hygiene is provided next to the house. It is recommended to bring your own sleeping bags. For guests with no sleeping bags there are enough blankets, needed even in mid summer.

The Alan mountain hut is managed by the Commercial Division of the Orienteering Club Sljeme Zagreb. Permanent duty is organized from mid June to the end of October. In other periods, duty is organized only on weekends. In the periods without organized duty, the hut is open as a shelter with only absolutely necessary equipment. The Alan mountain hut offers a variety of refreshing drinks. As far as possible, simple meals are offered by arrangement.

Rossi's shelter

The Rossi's shelter is a mountain shelter built in 1929. It is located on the Premužić trail, about two hours' walk from Zavižan. The shelter is meant for a short stay only in case of emergency or inclement weather.
